Happy spring break!

Practical Public Speaking

Now that you have chosen a topic for your informative speech, use any time you have free before we come back to class to research your subject. Make sure you can find enough information for a 5-7 minute speech. The Informative speech will be due on Monday, April 15.

Adventures in American Literature

If you were assigned an American short story to report on, don’t forget to be prepared to tell the story to the class when we return. Also, remember that we will be reading The Giver by Lois Lowry after our spring break.

No-Spin Economics

Review the information sheets you were given on U.S. coins and currency, the $1 bill, and the new $100 bill. In order to make up some of our work from snow days, we will have our quizzes on this information when we return. We will also review with a game before the quizzes.

Quick Looks at Great Books

Great job with our final review and discussion of The Count of Monte Cristo! Our next book will be The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway. We will read the book in one week when we return. If you would like an early start, feel free! 🙂 Be sure to bring your completed Literary Terms notebook to our next class. We will discuss many of the terms you have already completed.
